Tutorial: Mastery Mode

For students, Mastery Status provides a visual display of which shapes the student has succeeded in completely mastering in each shape library, and their overall progress toward mastering all shapes.

  • When Mastery Mode is enabled:
    • PointScribe removes any letters which the student has mastered from lesson content.
    • If a student is presented with a lesson containing only shapes he or she has mastered, an alert box will appear with a prompt to turn off Mastery Mode for additional practice if desired.

  • When Mastery Mode is disabled, students all letters are presented as part of lesson content, even those which have have been mastered.

To enable/disable Mastery Mode

  • (A) Select the Enable Mastery Mode toggle button in the Tutor Options area of the Lesson Editor screen on lower left.

To view mastery status

  • (B) (C) Select Classroom Mode, then select student name. The Mastery Status screen will appear.

  • (D) Green denotes mastered shapes, red denotes shapes not yet mastered.

  • (E) Stars to the right of each shape library shine with (fill in) yellow when an entire library is mastered. In this example, Daniel ahs mastered a few shapes in each library---eleven total---but has not yet mastered an entire library.

  • (F) The progress bar with sliding star across bottom indicates how many shapes, out of all shapes (62 shapes total) have been mastered.
