Tutorial: Sequences: Design a Handwriting Intervention

Sequences allow you to combine shapes from each of PointScribe's libraries---including User Created---to build custom lessons and design targeted interventions based on captured data.

When running a sequence-based lesson, shapes will appear one at a time in the order you select.

To design a handwriting intervention:

  • (A) Determine type of content needed for intervention by reviewing Student Report data.
    • There are four different types of reports that allow you to view individual student data. For details and instructions on running reports, click here.
    • In the example at left, the student is progressing well with most shapes but falling behind on shapes that include curved strokes.

  • (B) Create a sequence by combining letters, numbers and even user created shapes that include curved strokes.
    • For instructions on creating a sequence, click here.
    • The sequence shown at left addresses curves using shapes from each of PointScribe's built-in libraries, as well as, user created shapes.

  • Create and save a lesson based on your sequence.

  • Implement lesson with student as desired.

  • Reassess student data.

  • Edit intervention sequence as needed.
