Tutorial: Classroom Mode

Classroom Mode allows you to deliver the same lesson content to groups of students (classrooms).

Classroom Mode was created specifically to reduce the time and effort required to set up and launch lessons to numerous students. With a few clicks, the educator can launch a lesson for an entire classroom! PointScribe is like having another teacher in the classroom, specializing in handwriting, and freeing up time for the teacher to continue working with the other students.

Classroom mode gives you options for:

students to self-select their name and launch PointScribe without assistance
timing limits for sessions measured in minutes or the number of times the lesson will repeat
using individual student preferences (for sounds, color, etc) or overriding them

To use PointScribe in Classroom Mode:

(A) Select a saved lesson to run from the drop down Lesson Menu on the red Control Panel (or choose lesson parameters to run on the fly).
(B) Select Classroom Mode from the top of the red Control Panel.
- (C) If you wish to override student prefences, click the box in the Lesson Preview area in upper right corner of the lesson editor.
(D) Click on the Start Lesson Pencil. The Classroom Mode Timing Options window will appear.
(E) Choose timining limits if any.
- No limits
- Time limit in minutes
  Time limit in number of times the lesson repeats.
  - NOTE: sesson length will equal Lesson Repeats set in Tutor Options multiplied by the number of repeats entered here.
(F) Select, or have each student select, student name from the pencils that appear on screen.
(G) Confirm, or have student confirm, that the student selected is correct by clicking GO or STOP.
When the current student is finished, the class roster will reappear and the next student make take his turn. (The tally in the first student's pencil eraser should increase by one).
To exit the roster page:
- Depress and hold down the Control key
- Depress and release the X key
- Release the X key
