Testimonials
(What Educators, Therapists, and Parents want you to know about PointScribe.)

Parent:

”I just wanted to let you know how happy we are with Pointscribe. Our profoundly autistic teenage son previously demonstrated tactile prompt dependency from his instructors  when handwriting  that we could not fade despite years of effort on the part of all  those who worked with him. Within a short period of time he is now writing with complete independence with Pointscribe, and his emerging progress at transferring these handwriting skills to chalkboard and paper are very promising.

His longtime OT has said that ordinarily she would be hesitant to continue to pursue these handwriting goals with such a challenged student at such a late age, if it were not for his obvious joy and the success that he demonstrates when using Pointscribe.  When permitted, he  will often  come to his workroom/office and try to open the Pointscribe program independently to use it as a preferred leisure activity.”

---John B., New York, NY

Parent:

“My son is 13 years old.  The therapists and I had tried everything to get him to hold any kind of writing instrument without success. Because he loves and responds well to the computer, I began looking for software-based solutions for him to learn to handwrite.
That's when I learned about Pointscribe.  It was amazing.

The first time my son saw PointScribe, he held the writing instrument in his hand and immediately reached for the screen to interact with the letters!!! (just like the little girl in the demo video).   The program holds his attention and he is so excited to trace lines, shapes, and letters.

When he uses his communication to ask to play on the computer he always chooses "Pointscribe". What a great tool that can open the door to reading and writing for him as well as other children with similar challenges.”

Occupational Therapist:

“The student that I used PointScribe with is a 3rd grader with autism.  He could read, but refused any writing himself.  Refusal to attempt writing became such a problem that all writing goals were discontinued.   We tried PointScribe one day with him and he was hooked.  He asked to use PointScribe during his free play and within two weeks, he was forming all lower and upper case letters.  On paper, his letters are not all legible yet, but he is practicing, succeeding and does not complain at all.  PointScribe helped bridge that writing gap for him.  It was truly amazing to watch!”

Therapy Center Director:

“We are now in our second year and have been using PointScribe religiously with our kids."
---Shelley Margow, Director, Let's Learn Academy, Alpharetta, GA

Assistive Technology Coordinator:

“Through our presentations, educators have found PointScribe to be a great alternative for children who struggle with handwriting skills. The program is interactive, engaging, and customizable. Weak writers seldom want to willingly write. They know they struggle. But with PointScribe it becomes more about the game, than the writing. Writing becomes fun! The children become engaged in the process of writing, without truly noticing they are practicing handwriting skills.

Educators also enjoy this unique program. They are particularly impressed by the capability of managing individual profiles and printing out reports to monitor progress. In all, we have noticed a win-win situation for both educators and students. We are pleased to have this product to showcase in our AT lab.”

Occupational Therapist:

"During therapy session the children are more motivated to complete handwriting activities, stay on task longer and many kids ask to do more.  What I like most is that the kids get the formation of letters. I have also been able to break many bad habits of incorrect formed letters and it is transferring into the classroom."
